Tongue medical diagnosis for home doctors
One of my articles I talk about oriental medical tongue examination. This time I will talk about how it looks like from western point of view. In Western civilisation has also been very prestine about tongues too, but does not rely on it as much as oriental countries will. In western world you often hear from your doctor to open your mouth and say Aaa… They usually look at your throat and not tongue. There is how ever many looks on your tongue witch indicates what are you been doing lately.
Here is some diagnosis and explainings for tongue dilemmas.
Map-like tongue: Looks like have patches on top of your tongue witch change place and shape on daily basis, totally harmless noting there to do goes a way usually in few days although might go for weeks
Red tongue: You are missing some vitamins, might be temporary, but if goes for more than a week contact and consult your doctor.
Grey tongue: usually caused by anemia: lack of B-12, usually goes away if you eat some iron pills. you can get them from pharmacy.
Black tongue: This is usually harmless caused by bacteria and requires no action goes away in a week.
White tongue: Caused by smoking, drinking, alcohol.
While most of tongue conditions are harmless there are many deseases witch might get you very ill. So if you are not feeling good or have pains go directly to your doctor, because if your tongue is numb or in great pain it usually indicates something bigger.
